"Toko Shinoda, A Lifetime of Continuing Accomplishment" Trying to conceive an idea to surpass our successful exhibition at the Hara Museum in 2003 seemed impossible. For thatexhibition we were not only able to borrow Shinoda's painting from the Palace, but also gain the presence of Her Majesty, the Empress at the exhibition. This made even the thought of a follow-up seem daunting. Therefore it is with particular pleasure that we announce "Toko Shinoda, A Lifetime of Continuing Accomplishment" which is our major effort for 2005. With the generous support of Shinsei Bank we are happy to be able to show you what will be an important cultural event. The expansiveness of the venue which has been provided for exhibition permits the display of 60 pieces of work - 36 original paintings, (mostly recent, but including two from the 50s) and 24 lithographs dating from as far back as 1979. These works covering more than 50 years offer wonderful examples of the artist's long-lasting talent. The exhibition which is open to the general public will run from Friday, October 14 until Sunday, October 23. On the first and last days it will be open from 11-5. All other days, including weekends from 11-7, at Shinsei Bank 20th floor in Uchisaiwai-cho next to Hibiya Park. Phone (81-3) 3434-1300 for specific information |
